Overview: about banded archerfish

Small to medium-sized archerfish found in shallow inshore waters and estuaries of QLD and WA, known for their unique ability to spit water at prey. Target them with small lures, flies or tiny baits in 2-3m of water, particularly around mangrove edges and reef flats. They're a novelty catch with a fascinating feeding behaviour, but not highly prized for eating quality.
