Overview: about coral hogfish
Small but feisty reef fish found in shallow waters off NSW, QLD and WA, often among coral and rocky outcrops. Target with small jigs, soft plastics or live baits like crabs and shrimp in 1-8m. Good eating but beware of their spiny dorsal fin.
