Medium-sized reef bream with a strong fight, found over offshore reefs in NSW, QLD, WA and NT. Target with jigs, soft plastics and live baits in 100-180m, using medium to heavy tackle. Good eating quality, but often overlooked in favour of more prominent reef species.
Generally fished with medium tackle — match gear to the conditions and the size of fish you expect.
