Hardy widespread native percichthyid of inland Australia, found in almost every drainage on the continent including outback bores. Tough, opportunistic feeder — caught on worms, lures and flies. Small but plentiful; great kids' fish in remote waterholes.
Generally fished with ultralight tackle — match gear to the conditions and the size of fish you expect.
