Swordtip squid are a reef-dwelling cephalopod that put up a decent fight on light tackle, found in the Western Pacific. Target them with jigs and small lures worked over reefs in 10-50m, or try trolling with squid rigs. They're a crustacean feeder, so use baits that mimic their natural prey for best results.
Generally fished with medium tackle — match gear to the conditions and the size of fish you expect.
No seasonal pattern for swordtip squid yet. Seasons shift with water temperature and local conditions — check state fisheries advice and recent local reports before planning a trip.
