Native freshwater crayfish of inland eastern Australia — dams, slow rivers and farm waters across NSW, VIC, QLD and SA. Targeted with baited drop-nets, hoop nets or simply meat on a string. Excellent eating and an all-time kids' fishing rite-of-passage. Different to marron and redclaw.
