Calvert River

River·Northern Territory·Australia

Field notes

Gulf river between the McArthur and the QLD border, charter-only or remote 4WD with permits. Tidal stretches produce big barra and threadfin; the mouth fishes for queenfish, black jewfish and the occasional Spanish mackerel. Serious croc country.
