Intermittently open coastal lagoon south of Port Macquarie, entrance opens to the ocean after heavy rain. When open, runs of sea mullet, flathead and bream; when closed, perched-lake bream fishery.

Situation. A cold front is crossing northeast NSW Sunday morning then will move offshore into the Tasman Sea through the day. Another weak ridge is forecast in the wake of the front Sunday, followed by a series of fronts slipping south of the state through Monday onwards.
Sunday 6 September until midnight. Strong Wind Warning for Sunday for Macquarie Coast Winds: Southwesterly 20 to 25 knots turning southerly 15 to 25 knots in the afternoon. Winds reaching up to 30 knots in the late afternoon. Seas: 1.5 to 2 metres. Swell: Southerly 1 to 1.5 metres, increasing to 1.5 to 2 metres during the afternoon, then increasing to 2 to 3 metres by early evening. Weather: Sunny.
Monday 7 September. Winds: South to southwesterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore north of Crowdy Head early in the morning. Winds tending south to southeasterly in the early afternoon. Seas: 1 to 1.5 metres, decreasing below 1 metre during the morning. Swell: Southerly 3 to 4 metres, decreasing to 2 to 3 metres during the morning. Weather: Mostly sunny. 70% chance of showers. The chance of a thunderstorm south of Port Macquarie at night.
Tuesday 8 September. Winds: Southerly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres during the morning. Swell: Southerly 1.5 to 2 metres. Weather: Partly cloudy. 80% chance of showers.
