Seasonal Fish Aggregating Device deployed by NSW DPI off Merimbula through summer and autumn. Mahi-mahi and striped tuna stack under it on the right currents, with the odd marlin and yellowfin nearby. Check DPI for current deployment position each year.

Situation. A strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is maintaining northeasterly winds across the coastal waters. Very little change of weather pattern is forecast through the week due to the slow movement of the high. Then, a cold front looks set to cross the state during the weekend into early next week, bringing a southerly change in its wake.
Wednesday 21 October until midnight. Winds: North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore south of Green Cape. Swell: Northeasterly below 1 metre. Weather: Mostly sunny. The chance of a thunderstorm inshore in the afternoon.
Thursday 22 October. Winds: North to northeasterly 15 to 20 knots, reaching up to 25 knots offshore south of Merimbula in the evening. Seas: Around 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 2 metres during the afternoon. Swell: Northeasterly around 1 metre. Weather: Partly cloudy.
Friday 23 October. Winds: Northerly 15 to 25 knots. Seas: 1.5 to 2 metres. Swell: Northeasterly around 1 metre. Weather: Cloud clearing.
