Field notes
Shallow inshore reef in 25-35m at the northern tip of the North Reef system. Snapper and sweetlip work the bommies through winter, while pelagics including spotted mackerel and longtail tuna patrol the edges over summer. Run-in tide fishes best.

Situation. A ridge of high pressure extends over the southern and central Queensland waters from a high [1033 hPa] centred over the southern Tasman Sea. This pattern will persist over coming days as the high slowly weakens.
Thursday 22 October until midnight. Winds: Northeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres south of Cape Capricorn. Swell: East to northeasterly around 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore northern waters. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm.
