Cowan Creek runs through Ku-ring-gai Chase with deep drop-offs against steep sandstone banks. Kingfish, jewfish and squid hold deep; bream and flathead on the shallower flats. Access is boat-only from Bobbin Head or Cottage Point.

Situation. A strong high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is maintaining northeasterly winds over Sydney Waters. Very little change of weather pattern is forecast through the week due to the slow movement of the high. Then, a cold front looks set to cross the state during the weekend into early next week, bringing a southerly change in its wake.
Wednesday 21 October until midnight. Winds: East to northeasterly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the early afternoon. Seas: Below 0.5 metres. Weather: Partly cloudy. 60% chance of showers.
