Tide-blasted bay at the northern tip of the Dampier Peninsula, home to the pearl farm and giant tides. Threadfin, mangrove jack, golden snapper and queenfish on the run-in. Twelve-metre tides demand careful timing - fish the slacks.

Situation. Southwest to northwest winds extend across much of the northern coastal waters due to a broad trough inland. A ridge to the southwest is bringing southerly winds to western Pilbara waters, freshening from Friday as the ridge strengthens.
Thursday 22 October until midnight. Winds: Variable about 10 knots, reaching up to 20 knots east of Kalumburu in the afternoon. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to around 1 metre east of Kalumburu. Swell: Westerly below 1 metre. Weather: Mostly sunny.
Friday 23 October. Winds: Westerly about 10 knots increasing to 10 to 15 knots in the middle of the day. Winds reaching up to 20 knots east of Kalumburu in the afternoon. Seas: Around 1 metre. Swell: Westerly below 1 metre. Weather: Sunny morning. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon.
