Roper Bar

River·Northern Territory·Australia

Field notes

Tidal limit of the Roper River south-east of Katherine, a long-haul destination but legendary barra and threadfin water. The bar itself holds fish on the tide change, with kilometres of snag country downstream. Remote - self-sufficient travel and standard croc precautions.
