The pinnacle of east-coast gamefishing — juveniles run off the Sydney/NSW shelf in summer, with the legendary giant black marlin grounds off Cairns and Lizard Island producing 500kg+ fish each spring. Targeted by trolling skirted lures, swimming baits and live baits along the shelf and reef edges.
