Shelf-edge canyon system east of Cape Moreton in 300-500m, the southern anchor of the SEQ heavy-tackle run. Black marlin peak February through April, with yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi and wahoo through the warmer months. Watch for bait schools and temperature breaks.

Situation. A ridge of high pressure extends over the southern and central Queensland waters from a high [1035 hPa] centred over the southern Tasman Sea. The high will remain slow moving but gradually weaken over the next several days, maintaining the ridge.
Wednesday 21 October until midnight. Winds: Northeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore south of Agnes Water in the late evening. Seas: Around 1 metre. Swell: Easterly below 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore. Weather: Partly cloudy. The chance of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and evening.
Thursday 22 October. Winds: Northeasterly 10 to 15 knots, reaching up to 20 knots offshore south of Cape Capricorn during the day. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres south of Cape Capricorn during the morning. Swell: East to northeasterly below 1 metre inshore, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres offshore.
