Shelf-edge bait aggregation ground east of Caloundra in 250-400m, named for its reliability. Black marlin, yellowfin tuna and mahi-mahi work the bait through autumn, with wahoo on the warm-water edge. Troll skirts at dawn and switch to live baits when the action lights up.

Situation. A ridge of high pressure extends over the southern and central Queensland waters from a high [1033 hPa] centred over the southern Tasman Sea. This pattern will persist over coming days as the high slowly weakens.
Thursday 22 October until midnight. Winds: Northeasterly 15 to 20 knots. Seas: Below 1 metre, increasing to 1 to 1.5 metres south of Cape Capricorn.
