Field notes
Iconic Mary River floodplain billabong about 90 minutes south-east of Darwin, accessed via Corroboree Park. Barramundi, saratoga and tarpon hold the lily edges and timber, with run-off in March-May the prime window. Massive saltwater crocodile density - boat only, no exceptions.
