Artificial channel opened in 1994 linking Harvey Estuary to the ocean south of Mandurah. Strong tidal flow makes it a productive land-based mark for tailor, mulloway, herring and tarwhine; pink snapper move through on bigger tides. Rock walls each side give shore access.
